TU/e Casimir Institute × Intel Neuromorphic Compute Lab — Joint Workshop

Hardware–Algorithm Co-Design for Brain-Inspired Physical AI

From Edge Learning to Robotics and Automation

Monday 23 November 2026 Filmzaal (Zwarte Doos) · TU/e Eindhoven

About the workshop

This joint workshop by the TU/e Casimir Institute and the Intel Neuromorphic Compute Lab brings together academic and industrial researchers to discuss how brain-inspired computing, neuromorphic hardware, and on-device edge learning will reshape high-tech systems, automation, robotics, and physical AI.

Why this workshop?

Physical AI is moving out of the data centre and into machines that must see, move, and decide in the real world. Autonomous robots and battery-powered platforms face the tightest limits: milliwatt power budgets, always-on operation, and no room for a cloud round-trip. Today's mainstream AI stacks are inefficient at this edge — they spend most of their energy moving data, not computing, and they scale poorly as sensors and tasks multiply. Event-driven sensors and processors, combined with learning that adapts locally on the device, offer a path to efficient, always-on intelligence that fits these constraints.
